[wpsm_dropcap]A[/wpsm_dropcap]lbum covers are an important part of the culture of music.  Album covers give the musician a chance to capture the essence or inspiration of the entire album in a single image.  Today, Donny Pie took the time to list the top 5 album covers featuring baby photos.  Here they are:

[wpsm_numhead num=”5″ style=”2″ heading=”2″]Drake – Nothing Was the Same (2013)[/wpsm_numhead]

Nothing Was the Same is the third studio album by Canadian rapper Drake released on September 24th, 2013.  The album portrays a baby Drake looking into the eyes of an adult Drake.  The album describes Drake’s long road from humble beginnings to immense success. The album includes hit songs like “Started from the Bottom” and “Worst Behavior” which describe Drake’s life in graphic detail.

[wpsm_numhead num=”4″ style=”2″ heading=”2″]Lil’ Wayne – Tha Carter iii (2008)[/wpsm_numhead]

The triple-platinum selling album Tha Carter III released on June 10th, 2008 portrays Lil’ Wayne as a baby on the cover.  The photo was taken by Wayne’s mother and then it was photoshopped to add his trademark teardrop tattoos, often associated with murders.

[wpsm_numhead num=”3″ style=”2″ heading=”2″]Black Sabbath – Born Again (1983)[/wpsm_numhead]

[wpsm_quick_slider ids=”67730,67729″]

Born Again is from English rock band Black Sabbath.  The baby cover was produced by Steve “Krusher” Joule, who edited a black-and-white photocopy of a baby in a 1968 magazine.  Martin Popoff described the creature on the cover as a “garish red devil-baby”. Bill Ward has said that he personally hated the album’s cover and according to him, Ian Gillan told the press that he vomited when he first saw it.  Perfect for a metal/hard rock album.

[wpsm_numhead num=”2″ style=”2″ heading=”2″]Nirvana – Nevermind (1991)[/wpsm_numhead]

Nevermind is from American rock band Nirvana released on September 24th, 1991.  The album cover shows a naked baby boy, alone underwater with a US dollar bill on a fishhook just out of his reach.  According to Cobain, he conceived of the idea while watching a television program on water births with Grohl.  Fisher found some stock footage of underwater births but they were too graphic for the record company.

The cover picture had some controversy because it shows a visible penis.  Cobain made it clear that the only compromise he would accept was a sticker covering the penis that would say, “If you’re offended by this, you must be a closet pedophile.”

[wpsm_numhead num=”1″ style=”2″ heading=”2″]DJ Khaled – Grateful (2017)[/wpsm_numhead]

[wpsm_quick_slider ids=”67735,67736,67737,67738,67739″]

DJ Khaled has already delivered some big hits this summer from I’m On One to Wild Thoughts, but have you seen his album cover?  The album covers are without a doubt, the best baby album photos to ever exist.  The covers celebrates Khaled’s son, Asahd Tuck Khaled, who was born on October 23rd, 2016.

DJ Khaled’s son is executive producer for the “Grateful” album which hit #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart twice in under a month.  This makes Asahd Tuck Khaled the youngest most successful executive producer ever.  And it’s doubtful Asahd’s achivement will ever be beaten considering Asahd was only 4 month’s old when the record was being produced, as noted on the Jimmy Kimmel show.

We need more baby album covers.
Beyonce should take note ;)
