The *NEW* Google Home Mini is $49 and will rival Alexa and Echo, but there are privacy concerns!

[wpsm_dropcap]T[/wpsm_dropcap]he Google Home Mini is a brand new model of Google Home that releases October 19th, 2017 for $49.  This affordable will have 3rd party developer apps that will connect the Google Home to virtually everything.  And some of these “things” have been incredibly invasive.

The Mini’s touch function was improperly recording users without their knowledge.  This came as a concern after one user noticed the Google Home Mini’s lights to blink even though nothing was said.  After the complaint, Google made immediate changes to the Home Mini by disabling this function altogether.

This isn’t too surprising, though, since Google has been known to invade the privacy of their users.  The Google — My Activity — section isn’t exactly comforting.  Google is, literally, tracking everything you do; every second of the day.

Do you think this will impact the sales of the Google Home Mini?
Well, with a price point so low that rivals even the best of Bluetooth assistant speakers, the Google Home Mini still stands a chance at making great sales.  However, don’t count on it since Amazon products own over 50% of the market already.

The Home Mini arrives on October 19 and will be followed by several competitors’ products with their own AI assistants. Microsoft and Apple will put their first smart speakers on store shelves in the weeks ahead with the release of the Harman Kardon Invoke and HomePod. Amazon, meanwhile, unveiled the second generation Echo and nearly a half-dozen other products late last month.
