Family members describe this as a YouTube stunt gone wrong, a 22-year-old man from Halstad, Minnesota is dead and his pregnant girlfriend is in jail. Β His death happened in front of their 3-year old child.
Around 6:30 p.m. Monday night, Ruiz’s girlfriend was instructed to shoot a book that he’d hold in front of his chest. Β Upon firing, the bullet struck through the book and entered Ruiz’s chest. Β Life-saving efforts were made and a medical helicopter was called, but 22-year-old Pedro Ruiz was pronounced dead at theΒ scene.

Ruizβs girlfriend, 19-year-old Monalisa Perez, was booked into jail for reckless discharge of a firearm. Β She will be tried for involuntary manslaughter.

In their video, you see them talk about getting 300,000 YouTube subscribers and wanting to throw parties. Β With the younger YouTube generation becoming adults, maybe have dreamed of becoming famous on the video-streaming platform. Β Some of which are in desperate need of views and subscribers. Β The terrible incident recorded here is another example of what some people are willing to do for attention.
